The Software Landscape Today

Photoshop CS3 & Lightroom

June 27th, 2007

ASMP South Florida is proud to present a seminar by Peter Krogh, author of The DAM Book, Digital Asset Management for Photographers. This evening presentation will examine some popular current offerings for image workflow and collection management.  He will take a look at Adobe Lightroom, as well as Adobe CS3, demonstrating how these two software applications can compliment each other in an integrated workflow.   Peter will present an overview of how these and other programs can work together to add efficiency to the digital workflow.  You'll see what kind of information can be shared between software programs, and what kind of information can't be shared.  Peter will answer your questions about how to make a workflow that works for you.

Peter Krogh is the author of “The DAM Book” (O'Reilly, 2005), the most widely used reference on digital asset management for photographers.  His system cuts the often overwhelming task of managing digital photos down to manageable size with a solid plan, practical advice, and a workable system for filing, finding, protecting, and re-using photographs.

A professional and avid personal photographer for more than twenty years, Peter is a passionate advocate for both the photographer and the photograph.  He is currently serving on the ASMP Board of Directors.  As an Alpha Tester for Adobe, with a specialty in archive and workflow issues,  his contributions can be seen in some of the features available in Adobe Photoshop CS2 and CS3, Adobe Bridge, and the DNG RAW storage format.

Peter's work ranges from landscapes and architecture to images about light and color, to intensely personal photographs of family and friends. His stock photography is represented by National Geographic Image Sales. He revels in all forms of photographic expression and loves the experimental and offbeat.
