The South Florida ASMP Chapter is pleased to announce a "Meet the Members" program on March 20, 2008 to introduce our many new members to the group and welcome them to the community. We are asking new members to bring samples of their personal or professional work either in print form or on CD to be projected, all to be shared in an informal forum. The goal is to get to know them, their work, their vision and help them become a part of our local community.

Additionally, the members of the Board of Directors will share samples of their work during the meeting. We will also be asking existing members to volunteer to become specific contact persons for each of the new members so we can begin to establish a working communication network in the chapter between all new members and the more established veteran members. This network has existed informally for years among the seasoned members who feel it should be expanded to more of the membership in an organized manner. This meeting is the first in a series of meetings the South Florida Chapter will hold this year to nurture this network and continue to introduce new members to the entire membership. (Any member, new or current, who wishes to participate should contact Dennie Cody at 305-666-0247 or by email dcdk@codyphoto.com and prepare a CD of 5-7 digital images sized at 72 dpi with 1024 pixels on the long side.)

Just as exciting is our new plan to post a page on YouTube. The Board is creating a ASMP branded page to bring attention to our members in South Florida. The marketing of photography has been moving to these social networks online increasingly over the last year or so and the board wants to capitalize on this trend by creating a presence on the internet for the ASMP membership in South Florida.We will do a short video of each person at the "Meet the Members" meeting for inclusion on our new page on www.youtube.com. We will continue to add more member videos as we go forward. Our plan is to see that all members who attend these meetings will get their three minutes of fame. We will add special events and other "happening's" as we continue to grow this project. This is an great opportunity for all ASMP South Florida members to promote themselves world wide.

In order to give a very warm welcome our newest colleagues into the South Florida ASMP community we are depending on you to attend this meeting and bring a fellow photographer who has not been to a recent meeting with you.
