Digital Makeover Tour Wrap-up

The Digital Makeover Seminar was a big success opening more than just
our eyes to a better understanding of the digital era. It brought
together for three days a dedicated group of members, some new and long
standing ones, who shared camaraderie and information, along with a
feeling of togetherness.
Adobe, one of the major sponsors, gave us all CS2 on a thirty day trial
and
Monaco Systems, another sponsor, color balanced all our
monitors/laptops. Robert Hairston, from Atlex, our continued and loyal
chapter sponsor, brought down an Epson 4000 with paper for all of us to
try our files.
Door prizes ranged from caps to Extensis Portfolio, Adobe CS2 programs,
camera/laptop bag , Books on Photoshop.
My thanks to those who helped with this great program, Sandy Levy, who
signed in 2 new members the day before and in time to take advantage of
this offer....and found us a great rate on Chair rentals,
Scott Bell, who did the food with me and gave a lending hand wherever
needed,
Paul Morris who gave us usage of his studio space for the last 4-5
days, accepting the many shipments of equipment sent , in order to
properly present this seminar, not to mention his master carpentry in
rigging setups for audio/visuals. Thank you also to Jill Lippencott who
filled in all the blanks while the seminar was in session.
This was an experience worthwhile and very well put together. This
seminar like all National seminars are shared events by all the
chapters that participate. A good portion of the proceeds are returned
to each chapter as a percent of the total net derived from hosting
these events.
They are part of the "Its Your Business" education series and are well
worth taking when you can.
National will have available, sometime in Fall, another 1 day seminar,
"Marketing on the Web." There should be something to learn for all of
us.
