ASMP LAUNCHES NEW WEBSITE, EXPANDED RESOURCES

Philadelphia, PA… The American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP) has announced that it has launched a newly designed website, www.ASMP.org, with expanded resources available for all members of the photographic community. ASMP is the premier trade association for photographers who create images primarily for publication, and the association is a leader in providing professional photographers with business education and protecting their rights.

According to Eugene Mopsik, ASMP’s Executive Director, “We are pleased that the new website reflects the professionalism of our association and enables not just our members, but all interested photographers, to take advantage of many of the resources we offer. In this rapidly changing global environment, it is vital for photographers to stay informed about issues key to their profession. The new website provides important information as well as a sense of connection for the photographic community.”

ASMP’s recently expanded web business resources, available free-of-charge, provide a forum for training in important skills and for fostering creativity. These include an updated copyright tutorial “Best Practices Guide for Registering Your Images;” access to the ASMP daily blog, a forum for timely idea exchange and comments; and educational videos from the popular and acclaimed Strictly Business 2 series designed specifically for the photography community and covering topics such as pricing, negotiating, copyright and marketing.

Founded in 1944, ASMP is the leader in promoting photographers’ rights, providing education in better business practices, producing business publications for photographers, and helping to connect purchasers with professional photographers. ASMP has a membership of over 6,000 in 39 chapters across the country, and its members include many of the world’s foremost photographers.
