How long have you been working professionally?

Two years.

What has been your favorite photographic assignment or project to date?

This is a hard one; however, I have to say my current position as a Multimedia Specialist for Governor Schwarzenegger is pretty high on my list. I feel lucky to be documenting a fascinating and unique part of California history.

What has been your most challenging photographic assignment or project to date?

My current job definitely challenges me on a daily basis, both mentally and physically. I am on call 24-7, constantly traveling, and shooting assignments that demand I be on my ‘A’ game.

Please describe any special photographic projects or assignments in which you are currently engaged.

As a photographer for the Governor I am called on to cover a majority of his events. This daunting task has put the kibosh on my personal projects. Maybe I need to take a class on time management as balancing work and free time is proving to be quite the challenge. I am focusing my efforts on creating a body of work that shows the Governor in a unique light and in a way that pushes me creatively.

I dream of finding a way to use my photography to contribute positively to humanity. There would be nothing more rewarding for me than seeing my work influence needed change and have a positive impact on society.

PDN, ASMP, NPPA,,, Strobist,, Photo Business Forum and other photo blogs.

In your opinion, what is the most critical issue affecting photographers today?

Man….this a tough one. There are so many hurdles in our path these days. Unfair rights grabs and microstock are two big ones; however, what really affects me is the growing number people who have a nice camera, claim to be professional, yet give their work away for free.
